This pond is also called Aoiike of Shirogane or Aoiike of Biei Shirogane. This is located in Shirogene, Biei and a artificial pond. The pond was built as one of the dam in this area preventing from some volcanic disasters of Mt.Tokachi-dake in 1988. This is not a dam for using water, then the water is collected by chance. The blue color derives from aluminium hydroxide from spring here. As mixing the water from the Biei river, a kind of emulsion status of water is spposed to turn the pond blue.
