Kiroro Snow World is located in Akaigawa village, the north-west side of Mt.Asari. It takes 60 minutes from Sapporo by car. This is one of the most popular ski area in Hokkaido. Kiroro also has nice powder snow not only Niseko. In the mid-winter, the temperature of mountain’s top is sometimes under -15°C. That’s why Kiroro has good powder snow. Rental ski and other equipment is available. You don’t need any equipment for skiing. As beginners, the ski school is ready and some gentle slopes are available from beginners to experts. It takes about 15 minutes to the top by gondola lift. Even if you go there with beginners, there are some gentle routes for beginners, you don’t worry about it. But if the weather is bad, you might not go to the top. You will not find a slope because of the snowstorm or blizzard. The weather condition of the mountaintop often change, then you should pay attention to it. Anyway, Kiroro Snow World is one of the best ski area. You got more powder snow. Enjoy skiing!
Activities in Summer
Not only in winter also in summer, you enjoy Kiroro. They have a lot of outdoor activities, such as canoe, baggy, tennis, park golf, cycling and also indoor activities as craft makings. The gondola lift opens in summer from 5:00 to 18:00. If you stay in Akaigawa, you can see sunrise or sunset that is a very beautiful scenery from 1,180m mountaintop. Don’t miss it.
