Motoizaka Slope

Motoisaka slope

Motoizaka slope is located in Bay Area, the westward of Hakodate city. This is the base point for measuring a distance, so that this slope was named ‘Motoi-zaka’. ‘Motoi’ means base. There are many sight spots of Hakodate around the top of slope such as Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward, Old Soma Residence, the former British Consulate and so on. From the top, you can see a nice view of Hakodate port and city, too. The Motomachi Park Area around Motoizaka slope will be lighted up from November 29 to February 28 for Hakodate Winter Festival. You can enjoy a romantic night in Hakodate.
