Citizen Square: Ban-ei Race and Model Barn Ban-ei Race is a kind of hourse racing which is held in Obihiro city, Hokkaido. The horses used in the races are crosses of Percheron, Breton, and Belgian breeds. They pull heavily weighted sleds and up-down two sand ramp like a small hill. The race is 200 meters length and competed by endurance of horse and rider’s technics. Model Barn was constructed by William Smith Clark, the foreign advisor of Sapporo Agricultural College, now Hokkaido University. UHB Family Land: Happy Sazae-san Family in Sapporo Snow Festival National famous TV animation program: Sazae-zan is coming to Sapporo Snow Festival. Sazae-san written by Machiko Hasegawa had been published as daily 4 cell manga in the news paper serially from 1946 to 1974 and sum of the stories are 6477. It depicts the Japanese avarage people’s life style. TV program is now keeping on the air on Sunday evening which is one of the most popular and family TV animation like Doraemon. There is no Japanese from little children to senior who don’t know Sazae-san. This year, 2014 is the 45 annual from Sazae-san started its TV program.
